About

Dhanurvidyā - The Mother of Martial Arts Dhanurvidyā, the ancient Indian science of martial arts, is one of the oldest organised systems of combat and self-defence known to humanity. Far beyond merely fighting, it is a complete discipline of defence, attack, movement, discipline, strategy and control. The four fundamental aspects of Dhanurvidyā encompass the complete spectrum of what we recognise today as martial arts: Bāhuvidyā - free-hand fighting using hands and legs Mallavidyā - wrestling, grappling, holding, throwing, pulling and pushing Śastra-vidyā - training in weapons and their skilful use Vyūharacanā-vidyā - strategy, formations, tactical movement and special methods of combat Thus, what the modern world recognises separately as Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Judo, wrestling and various weapons arts can be understood through principles already contained within this ancient Indian martial tradition. Traditionally, Bhagavān Paraśurāma is revered as the great master and originator of the martial tradition. The true purpose of Dhanurvidyā is not aggression, but strength with discipline, skill with responsibility, and the ability to protect when protection is necessary. Come and experience this ancient science for yourself. Every Sunday 07:00 CET | 08:00 CET 10:30 - 11:30 IST Train the body. Discipline the mind. Learn to protect. Śrī Paraśurāmāya Namaḥ! Hari Aum!
