How should a seeker approach a Guru? And what makes a Guru truly qualified in Vedānta? In this session, we begin with a powerful mantra from the Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad, which clearly निर्देशs that Self-knowledge must be gained by approaching a Guru who is both Śrotriya (well-versed in the scriptures) and Brahmaniṣṭha (established in the Truth). We then explore the correct attitude of a seeker, as taught in the Bhagavad Gītā-through humility (praṇipāta), sincere inquiry (paripraśna), and devoted service (sevā). This recap highlights the essence of Guru Upāsadanam-the sacred meeting point where ignorance (Avaraṇa) and misconception (Adhyāropa) are removed, leading to true knowledge (Advaita-jñāna).
