In this session, we begin a concise inquiry into the fundamental Vedāntic triad—Brahman, Jīva, and Īśvara. Understanding their apparent differences and essential oneness forms the core of self-knowledge. We briefly examine: • Brahman as the absolute, non-dual reality • Jīva as the individual self conditioned by limitations • Īśvara as the total, all-knowing cause of the universe Having introduced these, we will, in the coming sessions, take up each one in detail along with the role of Māyā, to understand how the One appears as many. In the next few talks, we shall explain each of these in greater detail.
