About
Today we conclude our discussion on Gurupasādanam by looking at authentic references from our scriptures. From the Vedas (Upaniṣads), we see clear guidance that one must approach a Guru to gain true knowledge. The Bhagavad Gītā prescribes the attitude of humility, inquiry, and service while approaching the Guru. The Bhāgavatam defines both the qualification of the Guru and the sincerity required in the seeker. The Rāmāyaṇa tradition further demonstrates this through the life and conduct of Śrī Rāma, who approached Guru Vasiṣṭha with complete surrender and reverence. All our scriptures together emphasize one clear principle: preparation of the mind, right attitude, and sincere seeking are essential for approaching a Guru. Hari aum! 🙏
