Day-194: Glimpses of Guru Purnima – Vyāsa Pūrṇimā 2026 (Part 1)

Hari aum! The evening commenced with a traditional Bharatiya welcome, where guests were welcomed with the auspicious Kumkum mixed with cooling and fragrant Sandalwood paste. The programme began with Dīpa Prajvalana and Śāradā Devī Vandanā, led by the respected Master Sri Vidyasagar ji, senior Hindustani classical vocalist and Guru, together with Mrs. Uma Kumar ji, Carnatic vocalist and Guru. This was followed by soulful bhajans offered by Master ji. Rajshree ji then delivered the welcome address, highlighting the activities and achievements of DRS-Verein since its inception last year. The Pūrvā Pūjā was performed after a brief explanation of the significance and purpose of a Pūjā. This led to the Mukhya Pūjā—the Ṣoḍaśopacāra Guru Pādukā Pūjā—where every participant personally worshipped the Pādukās of their revered Guru. With the Pūjā samagri placed before them, all devotees chanted the 108 Names of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji while offering the prescribed worship. The ceremony concluded with the Uttara Pūjā, seeking forgiveness for any shortcomings in the worship and expressing heartfelt gratitude to Bhagavān and the Guru—not only for the gift of life, but above all for the priceless gift of Self-knowledge. The sacred gathering concluded with all devotees partaking of the blessed Prasādam. Hari aum!
