About

Śrī Ādi Śaṅkarācārya begins with “वेदो नित्यमधीयताम्” because scriptural knowledge is the light that illumines the entire path of Sādhana. (Adhīyatām) - let it be studied. * What does “Veda” mean here? * Veda means knowledge, specifically the knowledge that reveals the Truth of our real nature. * These are the Pramāṇa-the valid means of Self-knowledge. * Right understanding leads to right thinking, right action, and right living. * To remove ignorance (Avidyā) about our true nature. * The ultimate teaching of the Veda * The Veda culminates in revealing the eternal Self (Ātman/Brahman). * How should we study? * Daily. * Systematically. * With faith (Śraddhā). * Under the guidance of a competent Guru. * Reflect and apply the teaching in daily life. “Study the scriptures daily—not to know more about the world, but to discover the Truth about yourself.” Hari aum Tat Sat.
