About
Virodha Parihāra (विरोध परिहार) In the traditional Vedānta framework, Virodha Parihāra means: after gaining the vision of the Upaniṣadic teaching, the intellect may encounter apparent contradictions: * “How can the individual self (Jīva) be Brahman?” * “If Brahman is one without a second, how do we experience plurality?” * “If the world is experienced, how can it be called Mithyā?” * “How can the changeless Ātman appear to be the doer and enjoyer?” The purpose of Virodha Parihāra is not to create a new philosophy, but to remove doubts (saṁśaya) and wrong understanding (viparīta jñāna) so that Advaita-jñāna — “I know rightly” becomes firm. Hari aum!
