About
Today we revisited the seven essential topics that form the foundation of Vedānta study: 1. Adhikārī Nirṇaya (अधिकारि निर्णय) – Understanding the qualifications of the fit student of Vedānta. 2. Guru Prasādana (गुरु प्रसादन) – Approaching the Guru with humility and receptivity. 3. Padārtha Dvaya Vicāra (पदार्थ द्वय विचार) – Inquiry into the individual Jīva and the total Īśvara. 4. Tad-Aikyam (तदैक्यम्) – Recognising the essential oneness of the two. Having reached this important understanding of unity, we now prepare to enter the next stage: 1. Virodha Parihāra (विरोध परिहार) – Resolving contradictions and objections that arise in the path of Vedānta, clearing the intellect for deeper contemplation. 2. Sādhanā (साधना) – The means and disciplines required to attain the Truth. 3. Phala (फलम्) – The ultimate result: realization of the Truth. From tomorrow, we shall explore why Virodha Parihāra is an essential step in Vedānta study, and how removing doubts and misunderstandings prepares the seeker for Sādhanā, which culminates in the realization of the Self. Hari aum!
