About

How can the Self be “known” when the scriptures declare that the mind cannot reach It? In today’s reflection, we shall discover a profound truth of Vedānta: the mind is only a means, not the final destination. Just as a pole-vaulter uses the pole to rise, but must finally leave it behind to cross the bar, so too the seeker uses the purified mind through constant Śravaṇa, Manana and Nididhyāsana, until even the final thought - “Aham Brahmāsmi” - dissolves. The false notion “I am the jīva” is removed completely, and even the sacred thought “Śivoham” ultimately disappears into Silence. What remains? Only Sat-Cit-Ānanda. Infinite. Limitless. Non-dual. Therefore the mantra declares: “नेह नानास्ति किंचन” “There is no plurality whatsoever here.” This is the wonder of Self-Realisation - knowing, without the process of knowing. Hari aum!
