About
Purity here means freedom from otherness—that which is not intrinsic to one’s own nature. Just as air is called “pure” when free from foreign elements like carbon monoxide, and water is “pure” when free from contaminants like radioactive matter, impurity always implies the presence of something alien to its essential nature. Yet, both the “pure” and the “impure” are equally existent. Nothing that exists can ever fall outside Existence itself. All names and forms are contained within the one Infinite Reality; nothing is truly outside it. Therefore, from the standpoint of Truth, there is no real contamination or limitation. I am that Infinite Existence-Anantam. I, the Self, am ever pure-Śubhraḥ. Hari aum!
